The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has dismissed Anjum Saeed, the national team's manager and former Olympian, from his position. This decision was made ahead of the next stage of the FIH Pro League, which will be played in Hobart, Australia next month.
Sports News: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has taken strict action following an incident of indiscipline involving the team last month in Brazil. The federation has removed former Olympian Anjum Saeed from the position of national team manager, meaning he will not be able to fulfill those responsibilities in the second phase of the FIH Pro League.
The second phase of the FIH Pro League will be held in Hobart, Australia next month. According to a reliable source within the PHF, Anjum Saeed will also not be included in the training camp being organized for the competition.
Reason for Dismissal

Sources report that Anjum displayed indisciplined behavior while returning home with the team from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last month. He was caught smoking during a refueling stop for the aircraft. During this incident, he argued with airline staff and was subsequently detained for a day.
Due to this behavior, a decision was made not to send Anjum back to Australia with the team. Additionally, a player who was with him returned to Pakistan two days later.
Pakistan's Preparation for the FIH Pro League
The second phase of the FIH Pro League will be held in Hobart, Australia next month. The Pakistan team is preparing to perform at its best in the tournament, but the absence of manager Anjum Saeed will put additional pressure on team management and strategy. Head coach Tahir Zaman will take over team management responsibilities. Alongside this, players will need to focus more on discipline, focus, and team unity.
Anjum Saeed is a well-known former Pakistani hockey player and Olympian. He served as manager of the national team for many years, but his recent indiscipline has led to his removal from the position. His dismissal highlights a strict disciplinary policy within Pakistan Hockey. The federation’s message is clear: “All officials and players must ensure adherence to team standards and discipline.”
