Panipat: Five days after a body was found near the Nestle factory, the GRP arrested the accused friends. Serious injury marks were found on the head of the deceased, Gagan, making it clear that his death was a murder. The investigation revealed that the accused, Nitin and Ajay, had been plotting the murder for a month.
GRP in-charge Rajesh Kumar stated that on the day of the murder, Gagan was called to meet them, and then attacked first with an iron handle and later with a brick. Gagan succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot. After the murder, the body was thrown onto the railway track in an attempt to make the incident appear like a suicide or an accident.
Gagan's Murder in a Love Dispute
Gagan had married his girlfriend a year ago. After the marriage, the growing closeness between Gagan's friend Nitin and Gagan's wife created a rift in their friendship and trust. Gagan opposed this increasing intimacy, which escalated the dispute and tension.
According to the police, Nitin, along with his friend Ajay, planned to eliminate Gagan. The accused called Gagan under the pretext of meeting him and then attacked him with an iron handle and a brick. Gagan died on the spot in this attack.
Plot to Conceal Murder by Throwing Body on Railway Track
After the murder, Nitin and Ajay threw the body onto the railway track. By doing so, they intended to make it appear as a case of suicide or a train accident. After the body was found, railway police initially faced difficulties in identification.
The GRP reached the accused based on CCTV footage, mobile locations, and other clues. Both accused were arrested on Wednesday. The iron handle and stone used in the murder have also been recovered.
Investigation into Wife's Involvement in Murder Case Continues
Police are also investigating the role of the deceased's wife in this case. Officials state that during interrogation, it will be ascertained whether the wife had any role in the murder conspiracy. Gagan's marriage was not even a year old, and the incident has deeply affected the family.
