The voter list for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 has been locked. Voting will take place on November 6 for 121 seats across 18 districts. The nomination process will begin on October 10 and continue until October 17.
Bihar Election 2025: Preparations for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 are complete. The Election Commission has fully locked the voter list for the first phase. This means that no new voters can now be added to any assembly constituency included in this phase. Voting for 121 assembly seats across 18 districts of the state will be held on November 6 in the first phase.
Nomination Process Begins October 10
According to the Election Commission's schedule, the nomination process for the first phase seats began on October 10. Candidates will be able to file their nomination papers until October 17. Following this, nominations will be scrutinized on October 18, while the last date for withdrawal of candidatures has been set for October 20.
Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, releasing official data in this regard, stated that the deadline for adding names to the voter list ends 10 days before the last date for nominations. Therefore, no new names will be added to the first phase voter list now.
Districts Included in the First Phase
A total of 18 districts have been included in the first phase of the Bihar elections. These include Buxar, Bhojpur, Patna, Nalanda, Begusarai, Muzaffarpur, Khagaria, Munger, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Siwan, Vaishali, Gopalganj, Sheikhpura, Saran, Madhepura, Saharsa, and Lakhisarai.
Voters will elect their representatives in a total of 121 assembly constituencies across these districts. The Commission has also released a list of seats for each district so that candidates and voters can clearly know which seat is included in which phase.
Buxar District Seats
- Buxar district includes four assembly constituencies – Brahampur, Buxar, Dumraon, and Rajpur (SC).
Bhojpur District Seats
- In Bhojpur district, the assembly constituencies of Sandesh, Barhara, Arrah, Agiaon (SC), Tarari, Jagdishpur, and Shahpur will go to polls in the first phase.
Patna District Seats
- The capital Patna district has a total of 14 assembly constituencies – Mokama, Barh, Bakhtiarpur, Fatuha, Patna Sahib, Kumhrar, Bankipur, Digha, Phulwarisharif (SC), Danapur, Maner, Bikram, Paliganj, and Masaurhi (SC).
Nalanda District Seats
- The assembly constituencies of Nalanda district are – Asthawan, Biharsharif, Nalanda, Rajgir (SC), Islampur, Hilsa, and Harnaut.
Madhepura and Saharsa District Seats
- Madhepura district includes Alamnagar, Bihariganj, Madhepura, and Singheshwar (SC) seats.
- The seats in Saharsa district are – Saharsa, Mahishi, Sonbarsha (SC), and Simri Bakhtiarpur.
Khagaria and Munger District Seats
- Khagaria has Alauli (SC), Khagaria, Beldaur, and Parbatta seats.
- Munger district includes Munger, Jamalpur, and Tarapur seats.
Lakhisarai and Sheikhpura District Seats
- Lakhisarai will have Suryagarha and Lakhisarai seats.
- Sheikhpura district includes Sheikhpura and Barbigha assembly constituencies.
Gopalganj and Siwan District Seats
- The seats in Gopalganj district are – Baikunthpur, Barauli, Gopalganj, Kuchaikote, Bhore (SC), and Hathua.
- The seats in Siwan district are – Siwan, Maharajganj, Ziradei, Darauli (SC), Raghunathpur, Darauli, Goreyakothi, and Barharia.
Saran District Seats
- Saran district includes Ekma, Manjhi, Baniapur, Taraiya, Marhaura, Chapra, Garkha (SC), Amnour, Parsa, and Sonepur assembly constituencies.
Muzaffarpur District Seats
- Muzaffarpur district has Gaighat, Aurai, Bochahan (SC), Sakra (SC), Kurhani, Muzaffarpur, Minapur, Kanti, Baruraj, Paroo, and Sahebganj seats.
Vaishali and Begusarai District Seats
- The seats in Vaishali district are – Vaishali, Hajipur, Lalganj, Mahua, Patepur (SC), Rajapakar (SC), Mahnar, and Raghopur.
- The seats in Begusarai district are – Cheria Bariarpur, Bachhwara, Teghra, Matihani, Sahebpur Kamal, Begusarai, and Bakhtri (SC).
Samastipur District Seats
- Samastipur district includes Samastipur, Kalyanpur (SC), Warisnagar, Sarairanjan, Morwa, Ujiarpur, Mohiuddinagar, Bibhutipur, Rosera, and Hasanpur seats.
Darbhanga District Seats
- Darbhanga district includes Kusheshwar Asthan (SC), Hayaghat, Keoti, Jale, Gaura Bauram, Benipur, Alinagar, Darbhanga Rural, Darbhanga, and Bahadurpur assembly constituencies.
Election Process Schedule Set
After the completion of the nomination process for the first phase, the Commission will scrutinize the nomination papers on October 18. Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations can do so until October 20. Following this, the election campaign is expected to intensify across the state.
The first phase of voting will conclude on November 6. Subsequently, the Commission will announce the date for vote counting.
Election Commission's Strictness
Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal has stated that the Commission is fully prepared to ensure fair, transparent, and peaceful elections. Special surveillance teams have been formed in every district this time. The objective of these teams will be to curb activities like violation of the model code of conduct, distribution of cash, and liquor.
Additionally, those spreading misinformation on social media will also be monitored. The Commission has instructed all District Election Officers to send daily reports of every stage of the electoral process to the headquarters.
