Pappu Yadav Demands Purnea Be Made Bihar's Sub-Capital, High-Tech Airport, and More

Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav, made a significant political statement on Monday (September 15). Speaking to ANI, he stated that his commitment was not limited to just connecting the airport to the railway.

Patna: Independent MP Pappu Yadav from the Seemanchal region has once again made a major statement regarding regional development. While speaking to ANI on Monday, September 15, he said that the previous promises made to the central government have been fulfilled, and his focus is now on the overall development of Purnea and the entire Seemanchal region.

He has demanded that Purnea be made the sub-capital of Bihar, a high-tech international airport be built, a High Court bench be established, GST exemption be granted, modern medical facilities like AIIMS be provided, and a permanent flood control project be implemented in the Kosi region. He expressed confidence that these demands will be met soon, leading to historic improvements in the region's economic, social, and infrastructural facilities.

High-Tech International Airport: Boost for Trade and Tourism

Pappu Yadav said, "My objective was not limited to just connecting the airport to the railway. Now, I am demanding the construction of a high-tech international airport in Purnea. This will enhance connectivity in the Seemanchal region, accelerate trade, and open new avenues for tourism." He added that the airport's construction will increase employment opportunities for the youth, and the region's products like makhana, tilkut, and other local agro-based industries will be able to reach the global market. Furthermore, new avenues for trade and investment will open up, leading to faster economic development in Seemanchal.

Proposal to Make Purnea a Sub-Capital

The MP raised the demand to make Purnea the sub-capital of Bihar. He stated that considering the geographical location and economic needs of Seemanchal, Purnea should be given special status as a center for administrative convenience. He said that becoming a sub-capital would provide local residents with better access to government services. Given the distance from Patna and the travel time involved, this step would be a relief for the people of the region. It would also increase regional participation in administrative decisions and simplify the implementation of development plans.

Pappu Yadav said that the people of Seemanchal and Kosi regions have to travel long distances to obtain justice. Therefore, the establishment of a High Court bench in Purnea is essential. This will provide affordable and accessible justice to the poor and middle-class people. He also urged for the establishment of a high-level medical institution like AIIMS in the region.

He stated that due to the lack of quality healthcare services, patients have to travel to other states, which increases the financial burden. Providing local medical facilities is a major need for the region.

GST Exemption to Boost Local Industries

Pappu Yadav demanded GST exemption for makhana, tilkut, and other traditional products. He said that the livelihood of thousands of farmers and small traders is associated with these products. Tax relief will reduce production costs and boost local industries. He further added that this will not only increase the income of farmers but also establish the identity of these products in national and international markets. This can give a new direction to the economy of the Seemanchal region.

To tackle the perennial problem of floods in the Kosi river region, Pappu Yadav demanded the construction of a b dam. He said that floods cause widespread loss of life and property and have an adverse impact on the region's economy.
