Patna Metro Inauguration Delayed to August 23rd: Initial Launch with Three Stations

There's fresh news for people awaiting the Patna Metro. The anticipated inauguration date, previously speculated to be August 15th, has been revised to August 23rd. Several key factors have contributed to this new date, primarily involving technical preparations and security arrangements.

Extended Time Required for Technical Preparations

Officials from the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited state that final checks and adjustments are still underway on the metro tracks and other technical aspects. Scrutiny of the signaling system and communication network is also pending completion. Given that this is a public transportation service, utmost care is being taken to ensure complete safety and adherence to operational standards, without any undue haste.

Metro Service to Commence with Just Three Stations

Initially, there were plans to launch the metro service with five stations. However, operations will now begin with only three stations. These three stations are reportedly the closest to the depot. Although their names haven't been officially announced yet, sources suggest that they are the stations where construction is complete and which have been prepared for operation first.

Successful Trial Run; Work in Final Phase

The trial run from Bairiya to the depot has already been successfully completed. During the trial, the metro's speed, control system, braking system, safety measures, and stoppage time were meticulously evaluated. The metro performed well on all these parameters. The final report and certification process are now in progress.

Limited Operations Strategy for Crowd Control

The reason for starting the service with just three stations initially is to manage crowds and maintain organized operations. This will be a sort of soft launch, allowing necessary improvements to be made based on feedback received in the early days. The metro administration is implementing this strategy very thoughtfully.

New Direction for Development's Pace

The Patna Metro is considered a major step towards modern transportation in the capital. The metro service will reduce the burden on city traffic and provide people with an affordable, safe, and fast mode of transportation. Through this project, Patna will be included in the list of metro cities, giving a new direction to economic and urban development.

Minister Jeevesh Mishra Conducted Inspection

Minister Jeevesh Mishra of the Urban Development and Housing Department recently visited the priority corridor of the metro project. During this time, he instructed all concerned agencies to not slack off in their work. He also told the officials that public safety is of utmost importance and that the metro service should only be started when all standards have been met.

Work on Other Stations Also Progressing Rapidly

While metro service is being launched from three stations, construction work is also rapidly progressing on the remaining stations. Work such as laying tracks, preparing platforms, and installing lifts and escalators on the metro corridor is almost complete. It is expected that service will be started on the entire route in the next few months.

Focus Will be on Both Convenience and Safety of Passengers

Modern facilities have been arranged for passengers traveling in the metro. These include things like CCTV cameras, emergency buttons, escalators, and a digital ticketing system. Also, trained staff and metro police force will be deployed for safety.

Enthusiasm Among People Regarding Metro Ride

There is considerable enthusiasm among the residents of Patna regarding the first phase of the Patna Metro. The metro is being discussed in different parts of the city and people are eagerly waiting for it to start. From children to the elderly, everyone is excited about taking the first ride on the metro.
