Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday launched an attack on the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the Gandhi family and the party are entirely compromise-driven. He described Rahul Gandhi as a "symbol of negative politics" and a "puppet of anti-India forces." Goyal further alleged that the history of the Congress and the Gandhi family is marked by corruption and compromises with national interests.
Addressing a press conference, Goyal said that Rahul Gandhi and his party have consistently acted under compromise and foreign influence in matters concerning the country. He stated that Rahul Gandhi appears to support the agenda of anti-India forces not only in Parliament but also during press conferences and public platforms.
Goyal criticised several past political decisions of Congress leaders, including Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Jawaharlal Nehru, alleging that those decisions involved compromises on national and public interests. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi has become a symbol of negative politics and is compromising the future of the country and its citizens.
He further alleged that the Congress has a history filled with numerous corruption cases. According to Goyal, Rahul Gandhi and his party have ignored national interests under the influence of foreign powers and anti-India organisations. He stated that compromise defines Rahul Gandhi and that it has been the political method of the Congress.

Goyal alleged that Rahul Gandhi is a puppet of foreign powers and anti-India organisations. He claimed that on multiple occasions Rahul Gandhi has adopted what he described as an arbitrary approach in politics before the country and the world. He said that Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi family continue to compromise before the country, whether in Parliament, at press conferences, or on public platforms.
He reiterated that Rahul Gandhi and his party consistently advance what he described as the agenda of anti-India forces. According to Goyal, Rahul Gandhi’s negative politics has harmed India’s stability and national interests.
The remarks come at a time when Rahul Gandhi has been criticising the government in the Lok Sabha over the India-United States interim trade agreement and other policies. During the AI Summit, a dispute also took place between the Indian Youth Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. Referring to these developments, Goyal alleged that Rahul Gandhi has consistently promoted negative politics and obstructed the functioning of the government.
Goyal said that the politics of Rahul Gandhi and his party is confined to opposition and compromise. He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are working with national and public interests as the top priority, while the Congress and the Gandhi family are taking contrary steps.
Goyal said that the people of the country are observing what he described as the compromise-driven approach of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress. He stated that the public is identifying leaders who, according to him, work for foreign and anti-India agendas instead of India’s interests. He alleged that the Congress and the Gandhi family have consistently compromised for political gain and promoted corruption.
