New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary and administered the unity pledge to the countrymen on the occasion of National Unity Day. The PM said that Sardar Patel carried out the task of integrating more than 550 princely states into independent India. Calling Unity Day a day of inspiration and pride, he stated that the participation of the countrymen strengthens India's unity.

Sardar Patel's Contribution

Recalling Sardar Patel's contribution, Prime Minister Modi said that he worked to unite the country after independence. Integrating more than 550 princely states into the Indian Union was not easy, but Patel made it possible with his visionary approach and courage. PM Modi stated that Sardar Patel's policies and decisions wrote a new chapter in Indian history.

Significance of National Unity Day

PM Modi said that just as the country celebrates Independence Day on August 15 and Republic Day on January 26, National Unity Day also holds significance as a day of inspiration and pride. He informed that activities like 'RunForUnity' are organized across the country to spread the message of unity, in which millions of people participate.

The Prime Minister stated that places like 'Ekta Mall' and 'Ekta Garden' also reflect the message that unity should not only be in words but also in the structure of cities and society.

Unity Pledge for the Countrymen

Prime Minister Modi said that today, crores of people took the pledge of unity. He clarified that every citizen should undertake actions that strengthen the country's unity. Any thought or action that weakens national unity must be abandoned. PM Modi stated that this step is the need of the hour for the current and future strength of the country.

PM Modi said that programs reflect the traditions of the past, the labor of the present, and the achievements of the future. Citing Sardar Patel's ideology, he said that Patel always believed one should not waste time writing history. Instead, we must strive to create history.
