PM Gujarat Visit: On the second day of his two-day Gujarat visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Electric Vehicle (EV) unit at the Maruti Suzuki plant in Hansalpur, Ahmedabad. The ceremony will be held at 10 am, marking the commencement of production from the company's first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) unit at this plant.
The PM office has stated that this initiative will establish India as a global manufacturing hub for Suzuki's electric vehicles, further strengthening India's position in the field of electric mobility.
'e-Vitara' Maruti's First Electric SUV in the Segment
During the inauguration ceremony, Maruti Suzuki will launch its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara. This will be the company's first offering in the electric vehicle segment, further solidifying Maruti's presence in India's rapidly growing EV market. As production begins at the plant, the first batch of this vehicle will be ready today and will soon be available in the Indian market.
