Bihar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth approximately ₹7217 crore in Motihari, Bihar, on July 18. The event will be held at Gandhi Maidan, where PM Modi will also address a public meeting.
Initiative to take Bihar to new heights
Deputy Chief Minister of the state, Samrat Choudhary, informed that Prime Minister Modi has visited Bihar 53 times in the last 11 years, which is the highest by any Prime Minister. He said that PM Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have together taken Bihar to new heights of development.
Doubling of Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj rail line
During this visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the doubling of the Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj rail line. This project will be a significant step towards strengthening the railway network and increasing traffic capacity. It will also greatly improve passenger convenience.
Expansion of NH-319 and other road projects
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for the plan to convert the Paraiya (Bodhgaya) to Mohania (Kaimur) section of NH-319 into a four-lane highway. Additionally, the strengthening and widening of the two-lane road from Sarwan to Chakai on NH-3330 will also be carried out.
In Katihar district, a section of NH-81 will also be expanded into a two-lane road with paved shoulders. These projects will ease traffic flow and boost regional development.
Prime Minister's special commitment to Bihar
Samrat Choudhary said that Prime Minister Modi has a special place for Bihar in his heart. He has always worked towards connecting the state with better infrastructure, roads, railways, and other services. Bihar, which is counted among the backward states, is continuously being given large projects, which is making economic and social development possible.
Robust security arrangements
In view of Prime Minister Modi's visit to Motihari, security has been increased on the India-Nepal border. Checking operations are being conducted in hotels, lodges, and hostels. Aerial surveillance is also being carried out, and Air Force helicopters are constantly patrolling.
SPG officials and the local administration have taken the venue, helipad, and surrounding two-kilometer area under a security cordon. Bomb disposal squads and dog squad teams are also deployed. Paramilitary forces and SSB personnel have been deployed on the India-Nepal border with vigilance.
Several districts will get direct benefits
The direct benefit of these projects will be available to districts such as Darbhanga, Narkatiaganj, Kaimur, Gaya, Katihar, and Chakai. Improved road and rail connectivity will make travel easier for the general public and also promote regional trade.
