The Indian Army's Air Defence Unit, which thwarted enemy drone attacks with precision strikes during Operation Sindoor, has achieved another major success.
New Delhi: India's military strength is growing ber day by day. Recently, the Indian Army demonstrated its strength to the world by successfully testing the Akash Prime Air Defence System at an altitude of over 15,000 feet in the extremely difficult and snowy region of Ladakh. In this test, the Indian Army proved the missile's capability by accurately striking fast-moving targets in the air.
Successful Testing Even in Ladakh's High Altitude and Harsh Weather
Despite the harsh weather and extreme lack of oxygen in the snow-covered mountainous terrain of Ladakh, Akash Prime successfully shot down two different target aircraft in the air. Senior officials from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Army's Air Defence Unit were present during this test.
This test is also proof that India's indigenous technology is now fully capable of thwarting modern aerial attacks by the enemy in any challenging situation.
Strength and Capabilities of Akash Prime
Akash Prime is an upgraded and more advanced version of the existing Akash Air Defence System. It has been specially designed for high altitude and extremely cold regions.
- Can be deployed at an altitude of 15,000 feet.
- Capable of shooting down aerial targets up to a distance of 25-30 kilometers.
- Can destroy fast-moving targets in the air such as drones, aircraft, and missiles.
- Equipped with indigenously developed Active Radio Frequency Seeker technology.
- Works accurately even in extremely cold and low oxygen areas.
The Army's Air Defence Unit Will Be Further Strengthened
Akash Prime will prove to be a gamechanger for the Indian Army. With this, the third and fourth regiments of Air Defence will be formed soon. After the drone attacks by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, India decided to further strengthen its air defense. In the previous operation, the army had also thwarted Chinese aircraft and Turkish drone attacks along with Pakistan. Now, with the arrival of Akash Prime, it will be even easier to deal with such threats.
With this successful test, India has also sent a direct message to its neighboring countries China and Pakistan that India's military power is fully capable of destroying the enemy's intentions in any weather and situation. The testing of such advanced defence systems in border areas like Ladakh shows that India is prepared in advance for any challenge in the future.
Another Major Success for DRDO
The Akash Prime system has been developed by India's DRDO, which has already proven its superiority in the successful launch of missiles like BrahMos and Agni. This system will not only strengthen the country's borders but will also give a new identity to India's defense technology at the global level. Akash Prime is an advanced version of the existing Akash system. It has been specially designed keeping in mind future aerial threats. Its radar system and missile guidance technology are more advanced and accurate than before.
Defense experts believe that the success of the Air Defence System in high altitude areas like Ladakh will bring significant changes in India's strategic policy in the future. This will further strengthen India's military presence on the northern borders and make it easier to retaliate against enemy drones and aerial attacks.
