PM Modi Leads Grand National Unity Day Celebrations on Sardar Patel's 150th Birth Anniversary at Statue of Unity

On the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat. A grand parade and cultural programs were organized on National Unity Day.

Gandhinagar: On the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, National Unity Day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kevadia, Gujarat, where he paid homage to Sardar Patel at the Statue of Unity. On this occasion, a grand National Unity Parade was organized, where tableaux from various states, police forces, and paramilitary personnel presented a spectacular display of India's unity and cultural diversity.

National Unity Day Celebrated at Statue of Unity

The Statue of Unity, located in Kevadia, Narmada district, Gujarat, which is the world's tallest statue, appeared completely adorned with lights and patriotic colors today. Prime Minister Modi arrived here, offered floral tributes at Sardar Patel's statue, and reiterated the pledge to uphold the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation.

The tradition of celebrating October 31st every year as National Unity Day was initiated by the Modi government in 2014. This year, on the occasion of Patel's 150th birth anniversary, the event was given an even more special character. Thousands of people were present at the ceremony, and the atmosphere resonated with slogans of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.

National Parade: A Confluence of Security and Culture

Police contingents from 16 states and personnel from paramilitary forces participated in this grand parade organized on the occasion of National Unity Day. The marching contingents showcased the nation's strategic strength and discipline.

Alongside, tableaux from various states offered a glimpse into India's cultural diversity. The tunes of Punjab's folk dance Bhangra were heard in some places, while Assam's Bihu dance captivated the audience elsewhere. The participation of women security personnel was also a special highlight of this event.

PM Modi's Message on National Unity Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated in his message on the social media platform X,

“India pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary. He was the driving force behind the integration of India. His dedication to national integrity, good governance, and service will continue to inspire for centuries.”

He also stated that today's India is continuously moving forward in realizing Sardar Patel's dreams, and every citizen is dedicated to the goal of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.

Amit Shah Flags Off 'Run for Unity'

On this occasion, 'Run for Unity' events were organized in various parts of the country. Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off this run from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi. Thousands of youths, police personnel, and citizens participated, promoting the message of national unity.

From Gujarat to Delhi, Sardar Patel's birth anniversary is being celebrated across the entire country today as a symbol of national unity, harmony, and pride.
