Bihar Election 2025: During the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Araria. During this, he targeted the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) and specifically the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). PM Modi held RJD responsible for the 'Jungle Raj' in Bihar, stating that those from the 'Jungle Raj' era considered themselves the 'mai-baap' (parents/guardians) and emperors of the people.
Prime Minister Modi said that today, the first phase of voting is taking place to make Bihar developed. He referred to excellent pictures of voting from various parts of Bihar on social media. The PM stated that long queues have been visible at polling booths since morning. Mothers, sisters, and daughters are coming out with great enthusiasm to cast their votes. Unprecedented enthusiasm is also being observed among the youth of Bihar. He congratulated all the voters.
PM Modi's Remarks on 'Jungle Raj'
Describing the situation in Bihar during the rule of the Mahagathbandhan and RJD, the Prime Minister said, "A single vote from your grandparents made Bihar a land of social justice. But then came the 1990s, and RJD's 'Jungle Raj' attacked Bihar."
He clarified that 'Jungle Raj' meant 'katta' (country-made pistols), cruelty, bitterness, ill-manners, corruption, and misgovernance. PM Modi said that this 'Jungle Raj' crushed the dreams of the people of Bihar and became the misfortune of the state.
Focus on Bihar's Development

The Prime Minister further stated that during the 'Jungle Raj', Bihar's development report card remained zero. For 15 years, from 1990 to 2005, RJD's 'Jungle Raj' devastated Bihar. He added that the public was looted in the name of governance.
Subsequently, PM Modi stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, under the NDA government, brought Bihar out of 'Jungle Raj'. After the formation of the 'double engine' government in 2014, Bihar's development gained new momentum. PM Modi said that many important institutions have been opened in Bihar in the fields of education, health, and infrastructure.
New Education and Health Facilities in Bihar
Giving examples of development in Bihar, PM Modi said, "IIT has opened in Patna, IIM has opened in Bodh Gaya, AIIMS has opened in Patna, and the work for Darbhanga AIIMS is progressing rapidly." He informed that a National Law University, an IIIT in Bhagalpur, and four new Central Universities have now been established in Bihar.
Message to Voters
Prime Minister Modi appealed to the voters to correctly utilize the power of their vote. He said that by choosing the right option in the elections, Bihar's future can be made secure and developed. The PM also stated that the people of Bihar should not forget the lessons learned from the 15 years of 'Jungle Raj'.
