Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi today, his first visit to Kashi after 'Operation Sindoor'. During this significant visit, PM Modi released the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), providing financial assistance to crores of farmers.
Varanasi: During his visit to his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only released the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi but also presented assistive devices to differently-abled individuals, transforming their lives. These devices will not only make their daily lives easier but will also prove to be an important step towards their self-reliance.
At this special event in Varanasi, the Prime Minister presented high-quality devices to five differently-abled individuals from the stage itself, developed by ALIMCO (Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India), Kanpur. These devices are specially designed to meet the needs of the differently-abled.
1. Babli Kumari – Special Low-Vision Glasses
17-year-old Babli Kumari, who had been studying through Braille, was presented with low-vision glasses by PM Modi. This device will enable her to read books in a normal way for the first time. Babli dreams of pursuing higher education, and now these glasses will ease that path. The market price of these glasses is said to be around ₹5,000.
2. Kishun – Special Hearing Aid
61-year-old Kishun, who had been suffering from hearing impairment for years, was not getting much relief from normal hearing aids. The special digital hearing aid given by PM Modi will now help reactivate his hearing ability. This gift will give a new energy to the social and family life of Kishun, a resident of Kalika Bazaar in Sevapuri.
3. Santosh Pandey – Sports Wheelchair
National-level rugby player Santosh Pandey was given a special sports wheelchair. With the help of this special wheelchair, he will be able to perform on the field with more speed, control, and balance. Through this wheelchair, worth ₹40,000, Santosh can now show his mettle in international competitions as well.
4. Vikas Patel – Active Folding Wheelchair
State-level cricket player Vikas Kumar Patel, a resident of Chuppepur, Varanasi, was presented with an active folding wheelchair by Prime Minister Modi. With this wheelchair, Vikas will be able to take technical training of cricket while sitting and improve his game. This device will bring a significant change in the quality of his sporting life.
5. Sita Kumari Pal – Motorized Tricycle
Seeta Kumari Pal, a resident of Matuka Kakarha in Sevapuri, who earns her living by coaching children, was presented with a motorized tricycle by PM Modi. Now Sita will be able to go anywhere independently for her work, which will also increase her income and realize her dream of self-reliance.
