New Delhi: On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the supreme sacrifice of the four sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru. He said that the sacrifice and bravery of the Sahibzadas (sons of the Guru) is a symbol of indomitable courage, heroism, and the protection of dharma in the history of India. Addressing a program organized on this occasion, the Prime Minister also made important statements regarding Gen Z and Gen Alpha, and expressed confidence in these generations to build a developed nation.

Prime Minister Modi said that the country is remembering those brave young sons today who refused to bow down to tyranny, injustice, and religious fanaticism at a very young age. He described the courage of Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh, Baba Jujhar Singh, Baba Zorawar Singh, and Baba Fateh Singh as a golden chapter in Indian history.

‘Veer Sahibzadas broke the limits of age’ - PM Modi

PM Modi said,

'The Veer Sahibzadas broke all the limits of age and status. They stood like a rock in front of the cruel Mughal rule. Their courage was so immense that the very foundation of religious fanaticism and terror shook. He said that a nation with such a glorious past and inspiring heritage can face every challenge.'

The Prime Minister said that although the Sahibzadas were young in age, they did not compromise their principles in the face of the cruelty of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. They sacrificed their lives to protect dharma and humanity.

‘Aurangzeb forgot that our Gurus were not ordinary’

PM Modi said that Aurangzeb believed that by targeting the Sahibzadas, he would break the morale of the people of India and force them to convert to another religion through fear. But he forgot that Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his family were not ordinary. They were embodiments of penance, sacrifice, and dedication. The courage of Mata Gujri Ji and the entire family continues to empower the nation today.

The Prime Minister clarified that the struggle of the four Sahibzadas was not for power, but a battle between India's core values and religious fanaticism. It was a struggle between truth and falsehood, justice and injustice. He said that confronting the greatest power of the time at such a young age is an unparalleled example in itself.
