The programme will be held at 11 am through video conferencing and will include selected candidates from different states and Union Territories across the country.

According to the government, the Rozgar Mela will be organised at 47 locations nationwide. During the programme, the Prime Minister will address and interact with newly selected candidates. The central government considers the initiative part of efforts to connect young people with government employment opportunities.

The central government has stated that generating employment opportunities for young people remains among its priority areas. The Rozgar Mela forms part of this approach, under which vacant posts across ministries and government departments are being filled at a faster pace. The government has said the initiative has helped make recruitment processes more transparent and quicker, while providing opportunities for entry into government services and strengthening administrative capacity.

Since the launch of the Rozgar Mela initiative, 18 phases have been conducted. According to government data, approximately 1.2 million appointment letters have been distributed through these programmes. The government expects this number to increase following the 19th Rozgar Mela. It has stated that the initiative is contributing to employment generation and increasing confidence in government services among young people.

Selected candidates under the Rozgar Mela will be appointed across various ministries and departments of the central government, including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Department of Financial Services, the Department of Higher Education, and other central ministries and government organisations. Candidates appointed through the programme will serve in administrative, technical, and support roles.

The central government has taken steps in recent years to accelerate recruitment and fill vacant positions more quickly, with Rozgar Melas forming part of those efforts. Experts have stated that large-scale programmes of this nature help centralise and streamline recruitment processes, improve the likelihood of timely employment for young people, and reduce workforce shortages in government institutions.

India is among the countries with a large youth population, with millions of young people entering the job market annually. Government jobs continue to attract a significant number of young applicants. Under the Rozgar Mela, candidates receive appointment letters through a single platform, which is intended to simplify and improve transparency in the process. The Prime Minister’s direct interaction with candidates is also intended to encourage confidence among participants.
