Prayagraj. Another case linked to the network of the late Ateeq Ahmed, who transitioned from a mafia to a politician, has come to light. His henchmen are accused of demanding 20 lakh rupees as extortion from a person, allegedly in the name of Ateeq's incarcerated son, Ali Ahmed. Following the registration of the complaint, the police have initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
The victim alleged that Ateeq's associates not only demanded extortion but also threatened and assaulted him when he refused to pay the money. Given the seriousness of the case, the police have intensified their efforts to identify the henchmen.
Ali Ahmed is already incarcerated in several cases. He has consistently faced accusations of continuing crimes such as extortion and intimidation from within the jail.
Recently, the recovery of cash from his jail barrack also caused a stir in the administration, leading to the suspension of two jail employees.
Following the new extortion complaint, the police have recorded the victim's statements. Officials state that all aspects are being investigated, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
