A property dealer was shot dead in broad daylight in Prayagraj, triggering panic in the area. According to information received, the victim had been called to an office on the pretext of work, where the attackers were already present.
Police said the assailants shot the victim at close range in the temple, causing him to collapse on the spot. Eyewitnesses said the impact of the gunshot was severe and blood spread across the office premises, leading to chaos at the scene.
After carrying out the attack, the two assailants reportedly fled the spot in a car before people nearby could react.
Following information about the incident, police teams from multiple police stations reached the location and cordoned off the area. A forensic team also visited the scene and collected blood samples, cartridges and other evidence from inside the office.
Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the attackers. According to sources, investigators are probing multiple angles, including old rivalry, property disputes and business enmity. Family members and close associates of the deceased are also being questioned.
The incident has created fear among traders and local residents in Prayagraj. The victim’s family members gathered at the hospital and the incident site after receiving information about the killing.
