Prayagraj witnessed a change in weather on Wednesday morning, with dense clouds covering the sky and intermittent light drizzle reported in several areas. The rain has made the weather more pleasant and provided some relief from humidity. According to the Meteorological Department, several parts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive rain today, with heavy rainfall possible at some places in eastern parts of the state.

Cloud movement has continued over Prayagraj since morning, with light drizzle occurring intermittently before stopping for brief periods. The weather is not expected to clear completely, while rainfall intensity may increase during the evening. Low-lying areas of the city could face waterlogging if rainfall intensifies.

The change in weather affected people leaving their homes in the morning. Several residents used umbrellas and raincoats to protect themselves from the rain. Two-wheeler riders also need to exercise caution on slippery roads.

The monsoon remains active in Prayagraj. The district has recorded good rainfall in recent days. According to the report, around 600 millimetres of rain has been recorded so far in August, including 110 millimetres during the past two days.

Continued rainfall has already caused waterlogging in several parts of the city. Low-lying neighbourhoods and roads with inadequate drainage are more likely to accumulate water following heavy rain. If rainfall intensifies in the evening, traffic could also be affected.

According to the Meteorological Department, several places in Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive rain on August 26, with heavy rainfall possible at some locations. Rainfall activity is also expected to continue in several districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

However, rainfall activity in Prayagraj may decrease in the coming days. The local weather forecast indicates that rainfall may decline from August 27, followed by an increase in humidity.

Weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled in Prayagraj for the next few hours, with intermittent rain likely amid cloudy skies. If heavy rain occurs in the evening, waterlogging on roads and slower traffic could result.

The rainfall has also brought relief to farmers. Adequate moisture can benefit kharif crops, although excessive continuous rainfall can damage crops if water accumulates in fields. Farmers in rural areas are advised to follow the next weather updates.

Residents should also exercise caution over the next few hours. During heavy rain, avoiding waterlogged routes, staying away from open areas and maintaining distance from electricity poles and wires are necessary precautions.

Prayagraj remained under cloudy skies on Wednesday morning, with intermittent drizzle continuing. Rainfall may intensify in the evening, while weather conditions could remain variable over the next one to two days. Rainfall activity is expected to decrease from August 27.
