A program organized in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan on Sunday, August 3rd, on the occasion of World Tribal Day, was disrupted when some members of the tribal community protested against BAP MP Rajkumar Roat from Banswara regarding his old statement on reservation. As MP Rajkumar Roat was delivering a speech from the stage, some youths started chanting slogans. The protest escalated to such an extent that the crowd became agitated and started pelting stones at the police. Seeing the situation deteriorate, the police had to resort to lathi charge.

The administration acted promptly and brought the situation under control. According to officials, the area is now peaceful and the situation is being monitored. This entire incident is related to a sensitive social issue, which has created a tense situation at the local level.

Protest Erupted During Program in Khandia

The event was organized by the tribal community in the Khandia area of Jhalawar. During the program, MP Rajkumar Roat paid tribute to the children who died recently due to the collapse of a school roof. At the same time, some youths led by Arvind Bhil started protesting against his old statement regarding reservation. The atmosphere became tense due to the sloganeering and resentment, disrupting the program.

Stone Pelting on Police

When the police tried to pacify the protesters and remove Arvind Bhil from the venue, the crowd became uncontrollable. According to a PTI report, the angry mob pelted stones at the police, which further worsened the situation. In response, the police had to use force and disperse the crowd through a lathi charge. Currently, the situation is under control and police force is deployed in the area.

Statement on Reservation Became the Root of the Dispute

The root of this entire dispute is MP Rajkumar Roat's old statement, in which he commented on the reservation policy. This statement had been a cause of resentment among the Bhil community for a long time. There was discontent among the local youth regarding this, which has now turned into a public protest. This matter has become extremely sensitive from both political and social perspectives, causing a stir in political circles in the state.

MP Roat Reacted

Reacting to the incident, MP Rajkumar Roat told ANI that his program was pre-scheduled and he had come to Jhalawar on the occasion of World Tribal Day. He said that recently 7 children lost their lives due to the collapse of a school roof, but the state government has not provided any assistance to the affected families. He demanded that the government should provide compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the deceased and a government job to one member of each family. Roat warned that if help is not received in 10 to 12 days, they will sit on a dharna.

Regarding the protest at the event, he said that he had not come with any political intentions, but the way some government people treated him was very unfortunate. He said that he did not expect such petty politics.
