A major revelation has emerged in the alleged Pune drug party case. Medical tests have confirmed that Dr. Pranjal Khewalkar, the son-in-law of former minister Eknath Khadse, and another individual consumed alcohol. This information was provided by a senior Pune police officer on Monday. Following the emergence of the investigation report, the matter is no longer limited to law and order but has taken the shape of a political dispute.
According to sources, police raided the alleged party in Pune recently, during which Dr. Khewalkar was taken into custody. Confirmation of alcohol consumption in the medical examination has caused a stir in political circles. Eknath Khadse's supporters claim that this action may be a pre-planned conspiracy, while the police maintain that the investigation is impartial.
Truth Revealed by Medical Report
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that Rohini Khadse, the state president of NCP (SP) and Khewalkar's wife, met with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Nikhil Pingle on the evening of July 28. During this meeting, she was informed that the medical report confirmed alcohol consumption by Dr. Khewalkar and another person.
However, there has been no confirmation of drug consumption so far. The investigation in this regard is ongoing, and the police state that the entire process is being conducted under legal protocols. Meanwhile, the case is becoming more complicated as no concrete evidence related to drugs has surfaced.
Damania Expresses Need for Impartiality
Social activist Anjali Damania has also reacted to this matter. She stated that she has not yet seen the Sassoon Hospital report, so it would be premature to say anything about drugs. However, she also said that if drugs have been consumed, the accused must be punished.
Damania also described the entire episode as a political conspiracy. She says that Dr. Khewalkar's arrest occurred after the press conference in which his father-in-law, Eknath Khadse, made allegations against state Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan. In such a situation, questions are also being raised about the timing of the arrest.
