In his program in Darbhanga, Rahul Gandhi used abusive language for PM Modi; BJP states in press conference – the public of Bihar will give its answer.
Patna: A political controversy has erupted after objectionable language was used against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 'Vote Adhikar Yatra' of Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, in Bihar's Darbhanga district. In a video that went viral on social media, Rahul Gandhi's supporters were seen using offensive words for Prime Minister Modi.
Following the emergence of this incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took a b stance and stated that the public of Bihar will respond to the Congress for this. BJP MP Sambit Patra held a press conference to react to this incident and said that this is not just a violation of linguistic decorum but also an insult to democratic institutions.
Linguistic Decorum is Being Trampled
During the press conference, BJP MP Sambit Patra said that the language used in Rahul Gandhi's ongoing journey in Bihar is completely undignified and insulting. He stated that using such offensive language for the Prime Minister and his mother is shameful. Patra clarified that the Congress is no longer just the Gandhi family's party but has become a "swear-word party." He said that the Congress believes India belongs only to them, and when they don't get power, they abuse even the democratically elected Prime Minister. He also added that the public of Bihar is witnessing this undignified language and will respond accordingly.
This is Not the First Time Such Language Has Been Used
Sambit Patra further stated that this is not the first time Rahul Gandhi or his party has used such language. He pointed out that in recent days, Rahul Gandhi has been consistently addressing the Prime Minister directly as "Tu" (an informal and often disrespectful pronoun). He said that undignified and offensive language is not welcomed in India, and questions have been raised about it even in Parliament. Patra recalled that Rahul Gandhi has used words like 'Modi Mar Ja Tu' (Modi, you die), 'merchant of death', 'neech' (lowly), and 'worm from the drain' for the Prime Minister. According to him, this language is against the constitutional integrity of the country and cannot be ignored.
No Difference Between Rahul Gandhi, Sanjay Raut, and Mani Shankar Aiyar
Sambit Patra remarked that there is no difference in language and attitude between Rahul Gandhi, Sanjay Raut, and Mani Shankar Aiyar. He stated that Rahul Gandhi has filled the void left by Mani Shankar Aiyar's controversial statements. Patra clarified that the language being used in Rahul Gandhi's ongoing journey in Bihar is not only insulting but also a threat to democratic decorum. He emphasized that linguistic propriety is being trampled and needs to be stopped.
Congress Has Become a 'Fake Gandhi Party' – Sambit Patra
Sambit Patra asserted that today the Congress party has become a "fake Gandhi party." He opined that the party believes only they should hold power in India, and when that doesn't happen, they resort to using abusive language for the Prime Minister's mother. Patra added that the undignified use of language has become commonplace in Rahul Gandhi's speeches. He also stated that the people of India do not appreciate such language, and it is entirely unacceptable towards democratic institutions.
