Rahul Gandhi Meets Mahagathbandhan Leaders in Bihar: Seat-Sharing & Election Strategy Discussed Ahead of Assembly Polls

Political activity has intensified in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Following a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), party leader Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with key leaders of the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) late Wednesday evening at Hotel Chanakya in Patna.

Patna: Late Wednesday evening, following the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Rahul Gandhi met with Mahagathbandhan leaders at Hotel Chanakya. During this meeting, intensive discussions were held on several important issues, including seat-sharing. Following the meeting, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav also held a joint press conference with other leaders of the Mahagathbandhan. Presenting the Mahagathbandhan as b and united before the assembly elections is considered extremely important for Congress and its allies.

Deliberation on Seat Sharing

The main objective of the meeting was to demonstrate the unity of the Mahagathbandhan and to formulate a common strategy for the upcoming elections. During this, Rahul Gandhi stated that opposition parties should prioritize broader public interest and the strengthening of democracy, rising above individual ambitions. He emphasized that opposition unity alone can become a b alternative to the policies of the BJP and the NDA alliance.

The most crucial issue of the meeting was seat allocation. According to sources, Congress wished for more seats than last time, while RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) was not in a mood for any compromise in its traditional bholds. This led to a tug-of-war situation between the two parties regarding seats. Efforts were made to reach a consensus on this in Rahul Gandhi's presence.

Top leaders of the Left parties and the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) also participated in the meeting. It is considered certain that the final seat-sharing agreement will be announced soon to avoid delays in candidate selection and election campaigning.

Emphasis on a Joint Election Strategy

In the meeting, leaders decided that the Mahagathbandhan would not limit the upcoming election to just a battle of seat numbers but would prioritize public issues. Key issues would include unemployment, inflation, farmers' problems, and social justice. It was also discussed that a joint movement would be launched against the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government. Mahagathbandhan leaders also acknowledged that equal importance would be given to both social media campaigns and ground-level outreach to connect with the public.

After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav held a joint press conference. Both leaders unanimously stated that the Mahagathbandhan would emerge as a b alternative against the BJP and NDA in the elections. During this, Rahul Gandhi described the Mahagathbandhan as "the voice of the people and a democratic force," while Tejashwi Yadav stated that this alliance symbolizes change in Bihar politics.
