Today is an important day for Rajasthan Congress. The long-pending process of appointing district presidents is now in its final stage, and the party is set to finalize the names of district presidents for 48 districts in two crucial meetings chaired by General Secretary KC Venugopal in New Delhi.

Jaipur: The long-pending process of appointing district and rural presidents in Rajasthan Congress has now reached its final stage. Today, October 24, two crucial meetings will be held in New Delhi, chaired by party General Secretary KC Venugopal, where the state Congress president, leader of opposition, and district in-charges will also be present. In these meetings, the names of district presidents from across the state will be finalized. This step is considered very significant for the Congress organizationally.

Two Crucial Meetings, Discussion on Observers' Reports

In the first phase of Rajasthan Congress's district president appointment process, 30 observers were appointed. These observers visited the districts and prepared reports based on feedback and consultations with local leaders and workers. Today's first meeting will discuss the reports submitted by these 30 observers. In the meeting, six contenders from each district will be shortlisted, and a consensus will be built on three names. At this stage, special attention will be paid to local balance and the opinions of workers.

After the first meeting, the second meeting will include the Rajasthan Congress state president, leader of opposition, and the state in-charge. In this meeting, the final names will be selected, keeping in mind caste equations, regional balance, and organizational strength. According to Congress sources, the prepared panel will be sent to the Congress High Command, and the party expects that the names of presidents for 48 out of 50 districts will be announced within the next week.

Delay in Baran and Jhalawar Districts

However, consultations with workers have not yet been completed in Baran and Jhalawar districts. The main reason cited for this is the upcoming by-election for the Anta assembly seat. Due to the election code of conduct, organizational discussions in these districts were temporarily halted. The Congress High Command has expressed hope that the names of presidents for these two districts will also be announced soon after the by-election concludes. This will enable the new organizational team of Rajasthan Congress to become fully active and accelerate preparations for upcoming elections.

For Rajasthan Congress, the appointment of district presidents is not merely about filling positions. It is a decisive step for strengthening the organization at the local level and for its electoral strategy. The selection of a president in each district is being done to bolster the party's grassroots network, maintain unity among workers, and ensure better performance in upcoming local and assembly elections.
