Sikar: A distressing incident has shaken not only a family but the entire village in Sikar district, Rajasthan. A groom, engrossed in wedding preparations, became the victim of a brutal attack. In the village of Beri, a young man was abducted from a moving car, severely beaten, robbed of his jewelry and money, and then thrown from the vehicle. This incident occurred in Beri village, under the Daddiya police station jurisdiction, where the atmosphere of joyous wedding preparations abruptly turned to mourning.
Abduction, Assault, and Robbery Three Days Before the Wedding
The victim, Birbal (25), originally from Anupgarh (Sri Ganganagar district), was in Beri village, Sikar, for his wedding preparations. His wedding was scheduled for June 19th, and he was wearing valuable jewelry. On the night of June 16th, around 11 pm, a white Swift Dzire car stopped outside his house.
A man from the car called him out, mentioning the name 'Judia Khatik'. Based on this familiarity, Birbal, without suspicion, got into the car. However, as soon as he entered, the most terrifying night of his life began.
Three Assailants Carried Out the Attack
Once the car started moving, three men already inside—Ajay Meel, Vikas Nai, and Onkar—attacked Birbal. They rained punches, kicks, and slaps on him inside the car. The assault was so brutal that he was soon severely injured and bleeding profusely.
The assailants forcibly snatched a silver necklace, two lockets, approximately half a kilogram of bangles (hasli), and ₹7000 in cash from him. When Birbal became nearly unconscious, they threw him from the moving car and fled the scene.
Somehow Survived, Then Reached the Police Station
After regaining consciousness, the injured Birbal, with the help of locals, reached the Daddiya police station and reported the incident. The Station House Officer (SHO) took the matter seriously, immediately filed an FIR, and assigned the investigation to Head Constable Mukesh Kumar.
A case has been registered under serious sections of the IPC—kidnapping, robbery, and attempted murder—and a special team has been formed to apprehend the accused.
Fear and Anger in the Village
Since the incident, a deep sense of fear and anger prevails in Beri village and surrounding areas. Villagers question how safe ordinary people are if a groom, whose wedding is just days away, is not safe.
A villager said, "Now, we are afraid to even step out of our houses at night. The police should arrest the accused as soon as possible to restore confidence in the village."
Demand for Swift Police Action
Villagers and the victim's family have appealed to the district administration to arrest the accused swiftly and impose strict punishment. They also demanded enhanced security in the village during weddings to prevent such incidents from recurring.
The police say that all the accused involved in the incident have been identified, and raids are being conducted at various locations to apprehend them.
