The roof of the Rajkiya Ucch Prathmik Vidyalaya collapsed while children were studying inside the classroom. Four children died on the spot in the accident, while several others were seriously injured.

According to eyewitnesses, around 60 children were present in the classroom when the roof collapsed. The sudden accident shook the entire premises. It is feared that more than 25 children were trapped under the debris. Following the accident, local people rushed to help and started removing the debris on their own.

A chaotic atmosphere prevailed at the scene after the accident. The debris was so extensive that the school looked like it had been reduced to ruins. Amidst the screams and cries, local villagers and relatives tried to pull the children out of the rubble. The administration and police team were also immediately called to the scene.
Seriously Injured Children Receiving Treatment
Several children injured in the roof collapse have been admitted to a nearby government hospital. The condition of some of them is said to be critical. The medical department has stated that all the injured are being given first aid, and will be referred to larger hospitals as needed.
