A major accident occurred in Rajsamand on Friday morning when a private bus, full of passengers, fell into the Banas River near the Molela culvert. The bus's axle broke, causing the vehicle to lose control and plunge down, injuring over 15 passengers, including two critically. Local villagers immediately began rescue operations.
Rajsamand: Chaos erupted in the Khamnor area of the district when a private bus, travelling from Nathdwara to Machind, suddenly plunged from the Molela culvert into the Banas River below. According to initial information, the bus lost control due to its axle breaking and plunged directly into the riverbed. The accident occurred around 11 AM on Friday morning, with two people reported to be in serious condition and over 15 passengers injured.
Immediately after the incident, nearby villagers reached the scene, pulled out the passengers, and transported them to Khamnor Community Health Centre for first aid. Screams and cries erupted at the scene after the accident, and rescue teams were also informed. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the causes of the accident.
Treatment for Seriously Injured Ongoing Rapidly
The condition of two women among the 15 injured passengers is reported to be critical. After providing first aid, doctors referred both of them to Udaipur for better medical facilities. Hospital administration stated that the injured are being continuously monitored, and other passengers are also receiving necessary treatment.
With the help of local villagers, all injured were immediately transported to Khamnor Community Health Centre. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that screams erupted as soon as the bus fell, following which large-scale rescue operations were initiated.
Police's Prompt Action and Rescue
Upon receiving information about the accident, the Khamnor Police Station team reached the scene and led the relief operation. Police safely extricated the passengers and transported them to the hospital, and immediately informed their families. According to officials, police forces have been deployed at the scene to normalize the situation and ensure security.
Meanwhile, efforts have also begun to pull out the bus that fell into the river. Preparations are being made to bring the bus to the bank with the help of cranes and other equipment, so that further investigation can proceed smoothly.
