Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ has faced criticism after Pakistani actress Hania Aamir was cast in the movie, while others have voiced their support for the decision.
Rakhi Sawant Praises Hania Aamir: Amidst the controversy surrounding Pakistani actress Hania Aamir’s inclusion in the film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, actress Rakhi Sawant’s statement has sparked a new debate. While the film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, is facing widespread criticism on social media, Rakhi has openly praised Hania, calling her “sweetheart,” which has drawn considerable anger from many users and led to online trolling of Rakhi Sawant.
Rakhi’s Entry into the ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Controversy
The controversy stems from the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. Audiences and social media users are expressing displeasure, particularly given the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Following Rakhi Sawant’s post on Instagram praising Hania, she faced a barrage of criticism and accusations online.
On her official Instagram account, Rakhi Sawant shared a clip from ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ and wrote: “Congratulations my sweetheart Hania Aamir. Finally you are in Bollywood! So happy that you are debuting in the film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. Congratulations to Diljit too.” In another post, Rakhi wrote: “Everyone should definitely watch this film. I love you Hania. May God protect you.”
Trolling and User Outrage
Immediately after Rakhi’s post, she faced criticism on social media. One user wrote angrily: “First send Rakhi to Pakistan.” Another user commented: “She just wants publicity, she’ll say anything to go viral.” Many users started calling her “Boycott Rakhi.” Some stated that Rakhi should be mindful of the nation’s sentiments.
The core of the controversy revolves around Diljit Dosanjh, the film’s lead actor, who cast a Pakistani artist. Critics argue that, given the terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, in April 2025, which resulted in the deaths of 26 innocent people, casting a Pakistani actress at this time is a disregard for national sentiments.
However, Diljit Dosanjh clarified in an interview with BBC Asian Network, stating that the situation was normal when the film’s shooting took place. He asserted that Hania’s selection was a purely professional decision. Hania Aamir is a renowned Pakistani actress known for her innocence, beauty, and acting skills, and she has a massive fan following in India as well. Her inclusion in the film has once again ignited the debate about “cross-border talent.”
