Poor Weather and Landslides Disrupt Travel

Meanwhile, the continuous rainfall in Uttarakhand has further complicated the Char Dham pilgrimage. Heavy landslides occurred in the Munakatiya and Sonprayag Shital Bridge area on Wednesday night, disrupting traffic on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway (NH-58). Due to safety concerns, passengers have been halted in Sonprayag. The highway remained completely closed from 5 am to 8 am on Thursday to clear the debris and boulders.
