Ranchi Power Supply to Remain Affected in Several Areas from 10 AM to 12 PM on Wednesday Due to Maintenance Work

wer shutdown in several areas of Ranchi’s eastern division on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for maintenance of 33/11 kV power lines, technical inspections, repair work and tree branch trimming ahead of the monsoon season.

Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in Ranchi’s eastern division. Electricity supply will remain temporarily suspended in several areas on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for maintenance of power lines and tree branch trimming.

The shutdown has been planned to facilitate essential maintenance work and branch trimming on 33/11 kV power lines under the Electricity Supply Division, Ranchi (East). According to the department, technical inspections of the power network and necessary repair work will also be carried out during the two-hour shutdown period.

Executive Engineer Rajesh Mandal said that strengthening and securing the electricity infrastructure before the monsoon season is necessary to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the coming days. The maintenance drive is being undertaken with this objective.

Power supply will be affected in areas connected to the Vijaygiri, Domandih, Banta, Gondlipokhar, Plandu, Thana, Jargapaika, Ulatu, Chandwe and Sandi feeders.

The affected localities include Vijaygiri, Rangamati, Radgaonwa, Domandih, Maheshpur, Dulmi, Dokad, Tutki, Lawadag, Banta, Patrahatu and Bansia. Electricity supply will also remain disrupted in Angara, Getalsud, Banadag, Seeldag, Bedwari, Simaliya, Sirka and the Usha Martin University area.

Supply will also remain affected for two hours in Plandu, Sarwal, Jamchunwa, Rajajolatu, Rampur, Gadgaon, Sidrol, Tangratoli, Sindwartoli, Press Colony, Chatakpur and areas around the Tata Road petrol pump.

The department said efforts will be made to complete the work within the scheduled time. Consumers have been requested to complete essential electricity-related activities in advance and cooperate during the shutdown period.

Officials stated that the temporary disruption is necessary to ensure improved and stable power supply in the future. If weather conditions or technical factors lead to any changes in the schedule, the affected areas will be informed in a timely manner. The department has also advised residents not to pay attention to rumours and to rely only on official information.
