At the special ceremony held at the Chief Minister's public hearing office in Civil Lines, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta celebrated Raksha Bandhan with children. The girls tied Rakhi on the Chief Minister's wrists, while Rekha Gupta distributed gifts, sweets, and school bags to the children. During the program, the children also presented the Chief Minister with their paintings and drawings, which made her emotional.

The Chief Minister spent about an hour with the children, learning about their studies, school arrangements, and their experiences. During this dialogue, the Chief Minister also learned how teachers are managing the education system for the children in schools. She also spoke with teachers to discuss the needs of the schools and the possibilities for improvement.

Focus on Delhi Government's Education Policy

Under the leadership of Rekha Gupta, the Delhi government is prioritizing the education and well-being of children. In the current monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly, the government has introduced the Private School Fee Control Bill. Under this bill:

  • Schools will be prevented from arbitrarily increasing fees every year.
  • Schools will be fined in case of fee-related harassment.
  • This law will make education in private schools more transparent and accessible.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said: The children of Delhi are not only the present but also the foundation of the future. Ensuring their healthy, safe, and educated childhood is our moral and social responsibility. She further said that the Delhi government is committed to taking more such steps in the fields of education, health, and safety that will help children become self-reliant and empowered citizens.
