Rekha Gupta Becomes an Inspiration for Women
In the 'She's the Boss: Governing the Capital of the World's Largest Democracy' session, Rekha Gupta stated that if women possess courage and the ability to make decisions, they can fulfill any responsibility. She encouraged women to enter politics and fulfill their responsibilities towards society.
Targeting AAP: 'They Deceived the Public'
Rekha Gupta launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party, stating that when Arvind Kejriwal meets her, she will explicitly ask him why he deceived the people of Delhi. She further added that the way the public's hard-earned money was spent is reprehensible.
Response on Minto Bridge and Waterlogging
Rekha Gupta stated that she visited Minto Bridge four times and said that Delhi's waterlogging problem is the result of 27 years of neglect. She clarified that her government has deployed a responsible officer in every waterlogging-affected area, and the work of cleaning drains is continuously underway.
What Will the Public Say About 'Sheesh Mahal'?
Regarding the former Chief Minister's official residence, which the opposition had dubbed 'Sheesh Mahal' (Palace of Mirrors), Rekha Gupta said that she would seek public opinion on what should be done with the building. She jokingly added that if it were turned into a museum and tickets were sold, the construction cost could be recovered.
Ghazipur Landfill Site: Claim of Major Achievement
Rekha Gupta described the ongoing work at the Ghazipur landfill site as one of her major priorities. She stated that under her leadership, 3 million tons of waste have been disposed of, and bamboo plants are being planted in the cleared spaces. She mentioned that 3 new Waste-to-Energy plants have been started in Delhi, and work is also underway on an E-waste plant.
Working Against Pollution
On the serious problem of air pollution in Delhi, Rekha Gupta said that a comprehensive plan has been prepared for dust control for the first time. She stated that water sprinklers have been installed and the government is taking every necessary measure to deal with pollution.
Talking About Women's Rights and Safety
The Chief Minister said that decision-making ability and leadership have no gender. She listed women's safety, employment, and changes in the law as her priorities. Rekha Gupta mentioned that an old law prevented women from working at night, which she has had changed.
Reaction to Statements by Saints
When asked about the recent comments made by some saints about women, Rekha Gupta said that a person sees what they want to see. She stated that if your intentions and vision are clear, then the opinions of others do not matter.
Coordination in the Delhi Government
Regarding coordination between the Delhi government and BJP leaders, CM Rekha Gupta said that Delhi's MPs and MLAs are all part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team and are working with complete unity. She mentioned that Minister Pravesh Verma is out for a temple visit and everything is running smoothly in Delhi.
