RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, on Thursday, where he will stay for three days. This marks his first visit since the ethnic violence erupted in the state in May 2023.

Imphal: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is on a three-day visit to Manipur. He stated that he generally does not interfere in government affairs, but the presence of a stable government in Manipur is absolutely essential. Addressing a gathering in Imphal, the capital of Manipur, on Thursday, Bhagwat said that efforts are underway to form a government in the state, and his priority is to maintain peace and social stability there.

Responding to a question from an individual, he said, 'I do not interfere in the affairs of the government and parties, but there must be a government in Manipur, and to my knowledge, efforts are being made for this.'

Time and Patience Necessary for Internal Peace

Mohan Bhagwat stated that destruction takes only minutes, but construction takes years. He said, 'Even in these difficult circumstances, continuous efforts have been made to prevent the people of Manipur from being divided. We will bring everyone together. Physical peace will be established soon, but internal peace will take time. We are fully aware of this.'

Bhagwat's message is seen as a positive step towards social harmony and coexistence in the state. Earlier, at a special gathering in Imphal, he stated that the RSS is a topic of discussion nationwide, and there are often biases and misunderstandings regarding its work. He described the Sangh's work as unparalleled, saying, 'The RSS cannot be compared to any other organization, just as there is no comparison for the sea, the sky, and the ocean.'

To understand the Sangh, it is essential to visit its 'shakhas' (branches). Our objective is to organize the entire Hindu society, including those who may be opposed. The Sangh does not establish any separate power center within society.

Societal Responsibility and Awareness

Bhagwat explained the word 'Hindu' from a cultural and civilizational perspective. He stated that quality and unity are essential for a b nation. The progress of a nation does not solely depend on leaders but is based on an organized society. He said, 'Truth, compassion, purity, and penance — these are the fundamental elements of Dharma, and these are the life force of our civilization. Public awareness is the most crucial factor. Not everything can be expected from the government. For a self-reliant India, society must also be self-reliant.'

Mohan Bhagwat also praised Manipur's rich cultural traditions. He stated that the use of local languages, wearing traditional attire, and cultural festivals are the identity of the state. He encouraged people to strengthen and cherish them.
