RSS prepares micro-management strategy for five-state assembly elections, BJP campaign aligned

The RSS has developed a detailed micro-management strategy for upcoming assembly elections in five states, involving 32 affiliated organisations, door-to-door outreach, and voter turnout initiatives that are shaping the BJP’s campaign framework.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has prepared a comprehensive micro-management strategy for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, which is forming the basis of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) electoral campaign.

With the election dates approaching in five states, the RSS has intensified its preparations. According to sources within the organisation, the strategy includes a structured outreach programme executed through 32 affiliated organisations, aimed at conducting door-to-door engagement across constituencies.

RSS sources stated that the organisation is carrying out a house-to-house contact campaign through its network of affiliates. The initiative is intended to strengthen both organisational presence and coordination between local and national leadership.

Dilip Deodhar, an author who has written more than 40 books on the RSS, stated that the organisation is currently observing its centenary year while elections are scheduled in five states. He added that youth conferences and Hindu conventions are being organised concurrently, contributing to the integration of organisational activities with the electoral process.

RSS workers have been directed to engage communities through religious and social messaging to build local support. The campaign involves outreach to households irrespective of religious affiliation.

The 32 active organisations associated with the RSS, including the BJP, are participating in the door-to-door campaign. Workers have been instructed to directly communicate with residents and provide information about the organisation. Religious leaders and seers have also been assigned a role in the outreach effort. In West Bengal and Assam, seers have been mobilised to step beyond temple premises and engage directly with households. According to sources, this approach is aimed at disseminating messages related to religious awareness and nationalism at the local level.

In Kerala, similar outreach efforts are being conducted by the RSS and its affiliates, including engagement with Muslim and Christian households. The campaign is focused on conveying messages related to patriotism, nationalism, and social awareness. The organisation has stated that social media activity alone is not considered sufficient, and workers have been directed to prioritise direct and personal interaction to ensure deeper engagement with local communities and families.

A key component of the strategy is increasing voter turnout. Workers have been instructed to raise awareness about the importance of voting among all members of households. Local and state-level leadership structures are being activated, while central leadership is focused on public meetings and mobilisation efforts. Booth management systems, developed over the past 12 years, are being utilised with a target of achieving voter turnout exceeding 70 percent.
