Scindia's Statement
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, 'If you want to use the app, activate it; if not, there's no need to activate it. It is not mandatory. You can also delete it from your phone if you wish.' He also stated that through this app, neither will anyone be spied upon nor will calls be monitored.
Scindia said it is the government's responsibility to ensure this app reaches people and makes them aware of cybersecurity. Through the app, users can check the validity of their mobile connection and report any suspicious calls or links.
Priyanka Gandhi Alleges Spying

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra leveled serious allegations against the government regarding the Sanchar Saathi app. She stated that this app is a 'spy app' and the government is attempting to transform the country into a dictatorship. Speaking to the media in the Parliament premises, Priyanka Gandhi said, 'Sanchar Saathi can infringe upon citizens' privacy. Everyone should have the right to send messages to their family and friends without government surveillance.'
Priyanka Gandhi alleged that this is not limited to mere call monitoring or phone surveillance. She stated that the government is leading the country towards dictatorship in every aspect and not allowing the opposition to engage in discussion. She emphasized that discussion is crucial in a democracy and it is essential to listen to everyone's differing views.
What is the Whole Matter
Priyanka Gandhi explained that there is a very thin line between reporting fraud and monitoring citizens' phones. She said, 'Cybersecurity is necessary, but that doesn't mean the government can intrude into every citizen's phone. It should be implemented in a balanced manner.'
She also stated that citizens of the country would not be happy if their personal information and calls are monitored by the government. She asserted that respecting people's privacy and rights is extremely important in a healthy democracy.
