Sanjay Raut Suspects Cyberattack in Ahmedabad Plane Crash
Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has raised serious questions about the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, suggesting the possibility of a cyberattack. He stated that enemy nations have previously targeted Indian military installations via cyberattacks, emphasizing the need to investigate this angle. The crash claimed 265 lives, prompting the central government to form a high-level committee to investigate.
Raut's Questions Regarding the Crash
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Sanjay Raut stressed the need for a thorough investigation into the Ahmedabad plane crash. He highlighted that the plane crashed merely 30 seconds after takeoff, suggesting the incident was not a simple technical malfunction.
According to him, "While I am not a technical expert, the timing and pattern of the incident raise suspicions about the possibility of a cyberattack by an enemy nation." Raut also mentioned that India has previously been a victim of cyberattacks from hostile nations, particularly in the defense and aviation sectors.
Major Questions Raised About the Aviation Sector
Raut questioned not only the cause of the accident but also the entire aviation system. He inquired about the maintenance company or agency responsible for the aircraft involved in the Ahmedabad crash and why the accident occurred with that specific plane taking off from Ahmedabad.
He stated that the Boeing deal had already been embroiled in political controversy, and the accident could further erode public confidence in the aviation sector. "People will now fear air travel," he added.
Possibility of a Cyberattack on the Aircraft's Systems
A cyberattack could potentially hack into the aircraft's navigation or communication systems. Several international cases have emerged where aircraft accidents were caused by tampering with automated systems. Raut raised the question of whether something similar might have occurred in India.
He emphasized the importance of this question because the timing and manner of the crash do not align with typical accidents. The entire incident seems planned or targeted, potentially executed using modern methods such as a cyberattack.
Central Government Forms High-Level Inquiry Committee
Following the incident, the central government swiftly formed a high-level committee under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. This committee includes experts from the DGCA, AAIB, and other technical institutions. The government has instructed the committee to submit its investigation report within three months. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the investigation will examine technical causes as well as the possibility of any conspiracy or cyberattack.
