State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that several of its digital services, including YONO, UPI, Internet Banking, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS, will be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance from 1:10 AM to 2:10 AM on the night of October 11. During this period, customers will only be able to use UPI Lite.

Big update: State Bank of India (SBI) has warned its customers that the bank's digital services will be temporarily unavailable from 1:10 AM to 2:10 AM on the night of October 11. During this period, services such as YONO, UPI, Internet Banking, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS will not be available. The bank clarified that this shutdown is not due to any technical fault but is being carried out for system upgrades and maintenance to provide customers with a better experience in the future.

Bank is Upgrading System

SBI stated that it is undertaking regular maintenance to further enhance its digital system. During this period, the bank will upgrade its servers and network to provide faster, more secure, and uninterrupted services to customers in the future. Due to this upgrade, some services will be temporarily unavailable.

The bank has stated that this shutdown will commence at 1:10 AM on the night of October 11 and last until 2:10 AM. This means several of SBI's online services will be affected for one hour. The bank has already informed customers about this via social media posts so that they can complete their essential banking activities beforehand.

Services to be Affected

SBI announced that during this scheduled maintenance, its UPI, YONO app, Internet Banking, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS services will be unavailable. This means that during this time, you will not be able to perform any transactions via the YONO app or send or receive money via UPI.

Customers who use mobile banking or UPI for daily transactions should note that transactions through these services will not be possible from 1 AM to 2 AM.

UPI Lite Will Remain Active

The bank has also clarified that the UPI Lite service will remain active during this period. This means customers wishing to make small transactions can continue to use this service. Through UPI Lite, you can easily make small payments such as grocery bills, auto fares, or transactions for tea and snacks.

Reason Behind the Maintenance

SBI has clarified that this shutdown is not due to any malfunction or technical glitch. It is a regular process where the bank periodically upgrades its systems. The bank states that due to the increasing use of technology and a rise in customer numbers, it must regularly strengthen its servers and security infrastructure.

The purpose of this upgrade is to ensure that customers receive a faster and more secure digital experience in the future. SBI's digital network provides services to millions of users nationwide, making system upgrades essential for the bank's reliability and efficiency.

Recent Complaints

A few days ago, on October 8, there were reports of temporary disruptions in SBI's UPI services. Many customers complained that they were unable to complete transactions. At that time, the bank had also advised using UPI Lite. Taking this experience into account, the bank is now making technical improvements to prevent similar issues in the future.

Bank's Appeal to Customers

SBI has urged its customers that if they plan any essential transactions, they should complete them before 1 AM on the night of October 11. The bank stated that during this period, customers can carry out cash transactions from their nearest ATMs, as ATM services will remain operational as usual.

The bank also advised customers who wish to transfer large amounts via NEFT or RTGS to complete these transactions before the scheduled downtime to avoid any inconvenience later.
