Last Updated: 10 hour ago

Meerut, Kharkhauda: Around 03:50 AM, an encounter took place on Uldhan Road between the police and illegal cattle slaughterer Farman (son of Naseem, Ruhasa Police Station). When the police signaled him to stop, the accused opened fire. In retaliatory action, a bullet struck his leg, and he was arrested in an injured state.

During the search, he handed over equipment used for illegal cattle slaughter and a country-made pistol to the police.

During interrogation, the illegal cattle slaughterer confessed that he was involved in the incident of bovine slaughter that occurred about 6 days ago in the cremation ground forest.

The police have admitted him to the Community Health Center. Prior to this encounter, another accused had already been injured in a previous encounter.

Additional Details

The accused, Bhure alias Bhura, son of Kifayat Ali, was stopped by the police during a checking drive on Uldhan Road, Kharkhauda area.

He fired at the police, who retaliated, and a bullet struck his legs. Approximately 6 days before this incident, an act of bovine slaughter had occurred at the Uldhan cremation ground, in which the accused admitted his involvement. In connection with this earlier incident of slaughter (at the cremation ground), police are known to have registered cases. Prior to this encounter, another accused had also been injured in an encounter — possibly, this gang was already active. A country-made pistol was recovered from the accused.
