The State Bank of India (SBI) has informed its customers that several digital services, including Internet Banking, YONO, CINB, and YONO Business, will be unavailable from 1:20 AM to 2:20 AM on September 7, 2025, due to scheduled maintenance work. However, customers will be able to use ATM and UPI Lite services during this period.
SBI NEWS: India's largest public sector bank, the State Bank of India (SBI), has issued an important notice for its customers. The bank has stated that system upgrades and scheduled maintenance work will be carried out from 1:20 AM to 2:20 AM on September 7, 2025. During this time, digital services such as Internet Banking, YONO app, YONO Business, and CINB will be suspended. However, ATM and UPI Lite services will remain operational as usual. Customers have been advised to complete their online transactions in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
When and for how long will services be unavailable
According to the information released by SBI, services will be disrupted for a full hour, from 1:20 AM to 2:20 AM on September 7, 2025. During this period, Internet Banking, Retail and Merchant services, YONO Lite, CINB, YONO Business Web, YONO Mobile App, and YONO-related facilities will not be available.
Why are services being suspended
The bank has explained that this inconvenience will be caused by scheduled maintenance work. Like all major banks, SBI periodically upgrades its systems to further enhance its digital services. This is why these services have to be temporarily suspended for a specific duration.
UPI and ATM services will remain active
Customers need not worry that all bank services will be suspended. The bank has clarified that UPI Lite and ATM services will not be affected by this maintenance. Customers will be able to avail of these facilities as they do on regular days.
SBI customers will always have the option of using ATMs. Many essential tasks such as PIN generation, PIN change, balance inquiry, mini statement retrieval, credit card payments, credit card applications, cheque book requests, and mobile number updates can be easily performed using ATM machines.
Why does the bank choose late-night hours
Customers often question why late-night hours are chosen for such maintenance work. The bank believes that very few people conduct online transactions at night. Therefore, when services are disrupted, the impact on customers is minimal. For this reason, maintenance work is always scheduled for late at night.
The use of digital banking has continuously increased over the past few years. Millions of customers use facilities like online transactions, the YONO app, net banking, and UPI daily. In such a scenario, it becomes imperative to perform technical improvements from time to time to keep the systems secure and fast. This is why the bank decides to suspend services after providing prior notification to customers.
Users conducting transactions may face difficulties
Although very few people use online banking between 1 AM and 2 AM, customers who conduct transactions during this time may encounter problems. Particularly, those who prefer to do online shopping or make payments late at night may face service disruptions.
