Sensex Closes Up 259 Points, Market Cap of Top 7 Companies Rises by ₹1.55 Lakh Crore; Reliance, TCS Lead Gains

BSE Sensex closed up 259 points at 85,290. Market cap of Reliance, TCS, and Infosys increased, while the value of ICICI Bank, HUL, and HDFC Bank declined. A mood of investor enthusiasm and market stability prevailed.

Stock Market: The Indian stock market witnessed a positive trend last week. The BSE's 30-share Sensex closed up by 259.69 points, or 0.30%. On Thursday, the Sensex touched a 52-week high of 85,290.06 points. During this period, the total market capitalization of seven out of India's top 10 most valuable companies increased by ₹1,55,710.74 crore.

Reliance and TCS Shares Shined

The largest gains in market cap were seen by Reliance Industries and TCS. Reliance Industries' market cap increased by ₹46,687.03 crore, reaching a total market cap of ₹19,64,170.74 crore. Meanwhile, TCS's market cap rose by ₹36,126.6 crore, with its total value standing at ₹11,08,021.21 crore. This growth boosted investor enthusiasm and confidence.

Performance of Other Companies

Additionally, Infosys's market cap increased by ₹34,938.51 crore, reaching a total of ₹6,33,712.38 crore. State Bank of India (SBI)'s market cap grew by ₹13,892.07 crore to ₹8,34,817.05 crore. Bajaj Finance achieved a total market cap of ₹6,77,846.36 crore with an increase of ₹11,947.17 crore.

Bharti Airtel's market cap increased by ₹9,779.11 crore, totaling ₹11,57,014.19 crore. LIC also registered a slight gain, increasing its market cap by ₹2,340.25 crore to a total of ₹5,62,513.67 crore.

Decline in Market Cap

Conversely, some companies' share values also saw a decline. ICICI Bank's market cap decreased by ₹43,744.59 crore, settling at ₹9,82,746.76 crore. Hindustan Unilever (HUL)'s market cap fell by ₹20,523.68 crore to ₹5,91,486.10 crore. HDFC Bank's market cap dropped by ₹11,983.68 crore, closing at ₹15,28,227.10 crore.

Ranking of Most Valuable Companies

Currently, Reliance Industries holds the top spot among India's most valuable companies. It is followed by HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, TCS, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, and LIC. The value and performance of these companies influence the direction of the stock market and provide important indicators for investors.
