Severe weather conditions, including b winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rainfall, have disrupted normal life across Bihar, with three deaths confirmed and several people reported injured in separate incidents.

Authorities have confirmed three deaths in separate incidents linked to the adverse weather. Several individuals have also sustained injuries as b winds and lightning affected multiple areas across the state.

In Jehanabad, b winds caused a portion of a house structure to collapse. Four children playing outside the house were trapped under the debris. Local residents removed the rubble and transported the children to a hospital. According to doctors, all four are undergoing treatment and are currently in stable condition.

The storm caused extensive damage in several districts, uprooting trees and knocking down electricity poles. Multiple kutcha houses were damaged. In rural areas, electricity supply has been disrupted, forcing residents to spend the night without power. Standing crops in several fields have also been damaged, resulting in losses for farmers.

The meteorological department has issued alerts for 19 districts, warning of similar weather conditions over the next 24 hours. Experts have cautioned about the risk of lightning along with b winds and advised residents to remain indoors and avoid open areas during adverse weather.

Adverse weather conditions affected air traffic, with two flights diverted from their scheduled destinations due to b winds and low visibility. Several flights were delayed, leading to congestion at airports and extended waiting times for passengers.

Rail operations were also disrupted. Several trains are running behind schedule, while some were halted en route due to waterlogging on tracks and technical issues. Passengers faced prolonged delays at railway stations.

In urban areas, waterlogging on roads has disrupted traffic, causing congestion in multiple locations. Strong winds have also blown away hoardings and tin sheds, increasing the risk of accidents.

Administrative teams are monitoring the situation and conducting relief operations. The disaster management department has instructed all districts to remain alert, with rescue teams on standby for emergency response. Hospitals have been directed to remain prepared for treating the injured.

Officials have stated that while conditions are gradually stabilising, the risk persists due to the weather department’s warning. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and continue following safety advisories as conditions evolve in the coming hours.
