Siddhika Gupta, a student at Mahant Darshan Das Mahila College (MDDM College) in Muzaffarpur, has been selected for the National Integration Camp 2026. A volunteer with the college’s National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, she will have the opportunity to represent her institution at the national-level camp and interact with young people from different parts of the country.

Gupta is a student in the Department of English and is currently pursuing the seventh semester of her undergraduate programme for the 2023–27 academic session. Alongside her studies, she participates in NSS activities, which provide students with opportunities for social engagement and collective participation. Her selection is also an achievement for the college’s NSS unit, as the camp enables volunteers to represent their institutions at the national level.

The National Integration Camp will be held in Hisar, Haryana, from October 22 to 28, 2026. Selected NSS volunteers from different regions of India will participate in the programme, which will provide opportunities to learn about one another’s cultures, languages, traditions and social environments.

The camp aims to promote mutual cooperation, fraternity and national integration among young people. By bringing participants from different states together, it provides a platform for cultural exchange and allows them to learn from one another’s experiences.

Beyond cultural programmes, the camp also seeks to develop leadership skills, social responsibility and teamwork among young participants. It enables students to share their perspectives, engage with the experiences of other volunteers and gain a broader understanding of India’s diverse social and cultural identities.

The programme also focuses on strengthening the idea of unity in diversity. Participants from different states can explore the importance of mutual respect and cooperation across diverse languages, customs, food traditions and cultural practices. Such NSS initiatives encourage students to understand their responsibilities towards society and the country.

Dr Anuradha Pathak, the university’s NSS coordinator, congratulated Gupta on her selection. Professor Dr Alka Jaiswal, principal of MDDM College, also expressed happiness over the achievement and wished her success in the future.

According to the college administration, the selection of a student for a national-level camp is a matter of pride for the institution. It may also encourage other female students to participate actively in social and national activities alongside their academic pursuits.

Dr Shagufta Naz, the college’s NSS programme officer, along with other faculty members, also welcomed Gupta’s selection. The college community expressed hope that she would perform well at the camp and represent the institution.

The National Service Scheme connects students with society and seeks to develop a sense of service, discipline and responsibility. Its volunteers participate in social awareness initiatives, community engagement and various educational activities. The National Integration Camp forms part of these efforts by bringing young people together to promote interaction and mutual understanding.

Gupta’s selection gives her an opportunity to represent MDDM College and Muzaffarpur at the national level. During the programme in Hisar, she will be able to interact with volunteers from different regions, learn about their cultural backgrounds and experiences, and share her own perspectives.

The camp will run from October 22 to 28, with volunteers participating in activities focused on interaction, cultural exchange and national integration. Gupta’s selection has generated enthusiasm within the college’s NSS unit, with the administration and faculty members wishing her success at the event.
