36 wagons of a Phulera-Rewari goods train derailed in Shrimadhopur, Sikar. The Delhi-Mumbai Freight Corridor was disrupted, and railway and police personnel initiated relief operations. No injuries were reported in the accident.

Sikar: In the Shrimadhopur area of Sikar district, Rajasthan, 36 wagons of a Phulera-Rewari goods train derailed. The accident occurred near New Railway Station, with several wagons piling up on top of each other. Consequently, the Delhi-Mumbai Dedicated Freight Corridor was completely shut down. Railway and police teams immediately commenced relief operations.

Railway officials stated that there was no loss of life or property in the accident, but traffic on the track is completely disrupted. It may take several hours to remove the derailed wagons from the track and complete the repair work.

Rail Traffic Affected by Phulera-Rewari Accident

Due to the accident, rail operations on the Ringas-Shrimadhopur corridor came to a halt. Several goods trains were stopped, and some were diverted to alternative routes. Railway officials appealed to passengers and local residents not to approach the railway track and its vicinity, and to rely only on official information.

Ravi Jain, Divisional Railway Manager of North Western Railway, stated that a technical team is on-site to ascertain the causes of the accident. He added that relief and repair work is ongoing on a priority basis.

Accelerated Relief Work at Accident Site

The railway continued the work of removing the derailed wagons overnight with the help of cranes and heavy machinery. Rice stored in some wagons was unloaded to facilitate further cleanup and repair.

Praveen Kumar, an official from North Western Railway, informed that relief efforts have been expedited with the cooperation of the railway and police. He urged people not to pay attention to rumors and to rely only on official information.

The railway team continuously monitored the site to ensure track safety and repair. Officials stated that efforts would be made to restore the track as soon as possible to normalize rail traffic.

Investigation into the Cause of the Accident

The exact cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Preliminary investigations are examining both technical and human error aspects. Just one day before this incident, 37 wagons of a goods train traveling from Bikaner to Jaisalmer had also derailed, but no one was injured in that event.

Railway officials stated that based on the experience from previous incidents, safety and monitoring procedures would be further strengthened to prevent accidents.

Local Administration and Railway Accelerate Relief Operations

Local administration and the railway have jointly activated relief and safety measures. Railway officials reported that debris removal and repair work on the track are progressing rapidly. They advised passengers and villagers not to approach the railway track and to follow safety instructions.

Meanwhile, an alternative plan for the Delhi-Mumbai Freight Corridor has been prepared to minimize the impact on goods train operations. Officials are continuously monitoring the track and the surrounding area.
