To resolve the ongoing dispute over seat-sharing within the NDA, in view of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, BJP's central leader Dharmendra Pradhan arrived in Patna today (Wednesday). He will hold a meeting with key party leaders and may have an open discussion regarding the claims of alliance partners.

Patna: BJP's Bihar state election in-charge, Dharmendra Pradhan, will arrive in Patna today (Wednesday). It is believed that his main objective will be to resolve the tangled issues surrounding seat-sharing within the NDA. Upon reaching Patna, Dharmendra Pradhan will meet with senior BJP leaders. According to reports, an internal meeting of the BJP might be held from 1 PM onwards.

In this meeting, there is a possibility of discussing the claims made by alliance partners on BJP's seats. According to sources, Chirag Paswan has laid claim to some of BJP's seats, which has complicated the seat-sharing issue. Following this, BJP leaders may meet with Chirag Paswan in the evening after his return to Patna from Khagaria.

Seat-Sharing Dispute

According to sources, the issue of seat allocation within the NDA is complicated due to Chirag Paswan's claims. Chirag has asserted claims over some of BJP's sitting seats, making it difficult to maintain balance among alliance partners. Upon reaching Patna, Dharmendra Pradhan will hold an internal party meeting. It is estimated that the meeting will begin at 1 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to formulate a strategy regarding BJP's sitting seats and the claims of its alliance partners.

According to sources, Chirag Paswan may meet with BJP leaders this evening. Earlier, on Tuesday (October 7, 2025) in Delhi, senior BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Vinod Tawde, and Mangal Pandey had met Chirag Paswan at his residence.

Consensus Reached on Kushwaha's Seats

On the other hand, a consensus has been reached in talks with Upendra Kushwaha regarding seats within the NDA. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is currently on a tour of Assam, so BJP leaders have held discussions with Santosh Suman, the national president of 'Hum'. According to sources, there is no longer any dispute over Kushwaha's seats, and the situation is clear for the NDA in this regard. The main agenda for Dharmendra Pradhan's meeting will be:

  • Balancing the claims and demands of alliance partners.
  • Finding solutions with allies who are claiming BJP's sitting seats.
  • Finalizing the seat-sharing strategy and making a decision within the next two to three days.

Amidst the uncertainty surrounding seat allocation in the NDA, the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) has also not yet finalized its seat distribution. This further complicates the electoral equations. The main challenge for the NDA in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is to ensure complete control over the total seats while maintaining balance among its alliance partners. BJP's internal meetings and leaders' strategies will play a crucial role in this direction.
