A couple was shot dead in Hetimpur village, Siwan, and their daughter was seriously injured. Police have arrested four accused, and the murder is reported to be linked to accusations of witchcraft.
Siwan: A tragic incident unfolded on Monday (September 22, 2025) in Hetimpur village, under the Jamoh police station area of Siwan district, Bihar. A couple was murdered in the village, while their daughter sustained serious injuries. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, with six individuals named as accused in the double murder.
Double Murder Case in Hetimpur Village
According to the incident, the deceased Awadhesh Sah (50) and his wife Rita Devi (45) were present at their home. The accused Deepak, who is a relative of Awadhesh Sah and resides in Mashrak, Chhapra district, came to the village with four members of his family. Deepak and his associates first attacked with knives and then used firearms.
Their daughter, Anshu Kumari (22-23 years old), was present at home during the incident. She was seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment at Siwan Sadar Hospital. According to villagers, Deepak's belief that Rita Devi was a witch was behind the incident.
Where the Bodies Were Found
After the incident, villagers heard gunshots and gathered outside the house. Awadhesh Sah's body was found lying outside the house, while Rita Devi's body was found inside, covered in blood. The daughter was present in an injured state. Villagers immediately informed the police.
Police from Jamoh station and Siwan SP Manoj Tiwari immediately arrived at the crime scene. They conducted an inspection and commenced investigation into the case. The police interrogated the families of the deceased and people in the vicinity.
Arrest of Accused
During the police investigation, it was revealed that a total of six individuals were involved in this double murder. Four people have been arrested in connection with the case. Additionally, a car used in the incident has also been seized. Police are thoroughly investigating the matter, and the search for other accused is ongoing.
SP Manoj Tiwari informed the media that an old dispute is reported between the accused family and the victim family. Police also stated that further action would be taken based on all arrests and evidence.
