Senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s health has deteriorated once again. She has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi for health check-ups and care. However, she has stated herself that her condition is stable and she is under the supervision of a chest physician.
New Delhi: The health of senior Congress leader and former party president Sonia Gandhi has once again worsened. Due to health concerns, she has been admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi. According to hospital sources, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening for a routine health check-up and due to a persistent cough. Her condition is currently stated to be stable and she is under the care of doctors.
Admitted for Routine Check-up
Sources connected to the hospital have stated that Sonia Gandhi was not admitted due to an emergency, but for a routine medical check-up. However, she has been suffering from a chronic cough and respiratory issues for a long time, which are being closely monitored. A team of doctors, especially chest physicians, are keeping a close watch on her health.
Sonia Gandhi herself has also dismissed concerns about her health. She has said that she is feeling well and the admission is merely a precautionary measure. Hospital administration says that some necessary tests are being conducted and further procedures will be decided based on the reports.

Impact of Pollution, Has Been Hospitalized Previously
According to sources, Sonia Gandhi has frequently experienced respiratory and cough-related problems due to increasing air pollution in Delhi. For this reason, she comes to Sir Gangaram Hospital for check-ups from time to time. Doctors believe that regular monitoring is extremely important considering her age and environmental factors. Notably, Sonia Gandhi will turn 79 years old by the end of this year. Extra caution is being taken regarding her health at this stage of her life.
This is not the first time concerns have been raised about Sonia Gandhi’s health. Previously, on June 7, 2025, her health suddenly deteriorated. At that time, she was in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. She was admitted to a hospital there when her health worsened. After receiving initial treatment in Shimla, when she returned to Delhi, she was also brought to Sir Gangaram Hospital for a routine check-up. Doctors had also stated her condition to be stable at that time and advised a few days of rest.
