Sultanpur SDM Expresses Displeasure Over Slow Paddy Procurement, Reprimands Officials

Sultanpur. Expressing b displeasure over the sluggish pace of paddy procurement in the district, the SDM inspected several procurement centers on Wednesday. During the inspection, it was found that only 120 quintals of paddy had been procured so far at a procurement center with a capacity of 2500 metric tons. The SDM reprimanded the center in-charges and instructed them to expedite the procurement process.

The SDM thoroughly checked the registers, stock entries, weighing arrangements, and the status of farmer registrations. He stated that sluggishness in paddy procurement directly affects farmers' interests, and therefore, negligence at any level would not be tolerated.

Farmers also complained that the procurement process was extremely slow, causing them to waste unnecessary time. In response, the SDM assured that the administration would not let farmers wait unnecessarily and that surveillance of procurement centers would be further intensified.

During the inspection, the SDM strictly warned farmers against burning stubble and advised them to adopt scientific methods. He also informed farmers that the availability of fertilizers and seeds was normal and appealed to them not to hoard unnecessarily.

He also told farmers to ensure timely farmer registration so that they could easily avail the benefits of government schemes.
