The group stage matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India’s premier T20 tournament, have concluded, and the eight teams that will advance to the next round have been decided. Two teams from each group qualified for the Super League stage.
Sports News: The group stage matches of the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy have now concluded. This year’s tournament features a significant change – the Quarter Finals and Semi-Finals will be replaced by a Super League stage. This means that eight teams will directly enter the Super League and compete for the title. Based on the group stage results, the teams progressing to the Super League are:
- Group A: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Haryana, Rajasthan
- Group B: Andhra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand
Consequently, the top two teams from each group have advanced to the next round. The Super League stage will commence on December 12, 2025.
Super League Stage Format
In the Super League stage, the eight teams will be divided into two groups of four. Each team will play three matches against the other teams within their group. Therefore, each team will have a total of three matches to play in the Super League. The Grand Final, scheduled for December 18, 2025, will be held between the top teams from both groups. The final will be hosted at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
