Taapsee Pannu Says No Dispute With Kangana Ranaut, Open to Friendship

Actor Taapsee Pannu said in a Mumbai interview that she has no dispute with Kangana Ranaut, denied making any remarks against her, and stated she is willing to pursue a positive relationship while promoting her film “Assi,” released on 20 February.

Statement in Recent Interview

Actor Taapsee Pannu stated in a recent interview in Mumbai that there is no dispute between her and actor Kangana Ranaut. She said she is willing to form a friendship with Ranaut and intends to move past earlier controversies to build a positive relationship. Pannu also said she has never made any statement against Ranaut.

Clarification on Past Remarks

Pannu said a conflict occurs only when two individuals directly confront each other, which she stated has never happened between them. She described Ranaut as an influential senior actor and said she does not object to having been called a “sasti copy.” She added that previous reports suggesting tension between them had been exaggerated in media coverage.

Background of Dispute

Several years ago, Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Ranaut referred to Pannu as a “sasti copy” and a “B‑grade actress,” which led to exchanges on social media. Pannu said she never considered the situation a fight and reiterated that she does not see any conflict between herself and Ranaut. She stated that she regards Ranaut as her senior and a good actor and wants to move forward.

Position on Future Relations

Pannu said she is fully open to friendship with Ranaut and believes the possibility of them coming together exists. She added that someone may not want two good actors to work together, but she intends to move beyond such circumstances and attempt to build a positive association. Pannu is currently occupied with promotions for her film “Assi,” which was released on 20 February. She said that as outsiders, both she and Ranaut express their views equally and that improving professional and personal relations is now her priority.
