Tata Motors has received orders for more than 3,400 electric commercial vehicles for freight transportation, logistics, and passenger transport services, according to information released by the company.
The order includes electric vehicles across multiple categories that will be deployed in e-commerce, urban transportation, logistics, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. The development reflects growing demand for electric mobility and clean transportation solutions in the country.
The order comprises approximately 2,000 small commercial vehicles and pickup models. Tata Motors will also supply around 900 electric trucks and 500 electric buses as part of the order.

These vehicles will be used for various commercial operations. E-commerce companies will deploy them for last-mile delivery services, while logistics operators and FMCG companies will use them for goods transportation. The electric buses will be utilized for urban and regional passenger transport services.
According to the company, the order represents increasing customer confidence in electric commercial vehicles. A few years ago, electric commercial vehicles were largely limited to pilot projects and restricted trials. Companies are now incorporating them into regular operations.
The development indicates broader adoption of electric transportation solutions for commercial applications.
