The Tripura government has completed preparations for the NEET (UG) 2026 re-conduct examination scheduled for June 21, with more than 4,700 candidates expected to appear at 10 examination centres under enhanced security, digital monitoring and administrative coordination.

The Tripura government has completed all preparations for the re-conduct of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026, scheduled to be held across designated examination centres in the state on June 21, 2026. The state Higher Education Department said extensive arrangements have been made to ensure the examination is conducted in a transparent, secure and fair manner.

In an official press note issued on Friday, the department stated that coordination has been established with the National Testing Agency (NTA), district administrations, Tripura Police and other concerned agencies to strengthen examination arrangements.

According to the Higher Education Department, more than 4,700 candidates are expected to appear for the examination, including around 4,500 candidates from West Tripura district and nearly 200 from Dhalai district.

A total of 10 examination centres have been designated for the test, including nine in West Tripura and one in Dhalai district. Security and administrative arrangements at all centres have been strengthened.

The Tripura government has constituted a State-Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) and District-Level Coordination Committees (DLCCs) to oversee the smooth conduct of the examination. These committees will monitor all examination-related activities and ensure that no irregularities occur at any level. They will also coordinate among district administrations, police departments and examination centres.

Higher Education Department Secretary and State Nodal Officer Rawal Hemendra Kumar said comprehensive security arrangements have been made to ensure a fair and secure examination process.

Police personnel will be deployed at all examination centres, and candidates will undergo multi-stage frisking. CCTV surveillance systems have also been arranged at every centre to maintain continuous monitoring of the examination process.

Observers appointed by the National Testing Agency will remain present during the examination. Flying squad teams will also be deployed to take immediate action in case of any suspicious activity.

Jammers will be installed at all examination centres to prevent any possibility of electronic communication or malpractice. Special protocols have also been implemented for the secure transportation and handling of question papers and other confidential materials to ensure that examination materials reach centres only through authorised officials.

Nodal officers have been appointed for every examination centre and will coordinate all examination-related activities. These officers will maintain coordination among district administrations, police departments, the National Informatics Centre (NIC), centre superintendents and National Testing Agency officials to ensure that no administrative or technical issues arise during the examination.

The Higher Education Department has advised all candidates to reach their examination centres well before the reporting time mentioned on their admit cards. Candidates arriving late will not be allowed entry. Candidates have also been directed to strictly follow all instructions issued by the National Testing Agency.

Parents have been requested not to gather unnecessarily around examination centres and to cooperate with the administration to maintain a calm and orderly environment during the examination.

The state government said conducting the NEET (UG) 2026 re-conduct examination with complete transparency and fairness remains its highest priority.

Rawal Hemendra Kumar said the Tripura government remains fully committed to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the examination system and that any form of disruption or irregularity will not be tolerated.

The Information Technology Department and the National Informatics Centre are also assisting in strengthening examination arrangements. All examination centres will be digitally monitored, and data will be tracked in real time to facilitate prompt action in case of any suspicious activity.

The state government said it has ensured equal and fair opportunities for all candidates during the conduct of the examination.
